Heartsgiving: Secret Pal-entines

You enter the guild hall, filled with excited glee at what awaits you. You've heard from the council that Miss Angel, Mister Taft, and Mister Castro have put together an awesome party for the kids your age, and you couldn't be more ready to finally have some fun with the others your age! Festive colored streamers hung from the rafters of the hall, big tables filled with goodies and tasty food were lined up on one wall, and smaller tables sat around the room, surfaces covered with protective paper. Each table is filled with a bunch of very fun and interesting looking craft supplies and paper. In the far corner, there looks to be a bunch of toys, and other game materials, possibly for later on. There's confetti and balloons scattered around on the ground as well, and several other kits and draklings have begun playing games with them. Oh what fun this is already looking to be!

Welcome to the Whistler Crest Secret Pal-entine Heartsgiving event! PROMPTS:
1.) Draw your kid writing their name down and dropping their paper slip in the name bowl! Angel will draw the names, and hand each child who they are making a card for.
2.) Once your kiddo has their name drawn, it's time to get to work! Lots of fancy craft supplies have been offered for you to take advantage of. Do they go simple with their card, or do they go rouge with their fledgeling artistic talents? Show off what theyve made! (you may also make a real life card with this prompt, and net yourself +50 extra exp!) Examples of both card formats can be found below this list
3.) Draw your character receiving their card that was made for them! What's their reaction to their (hopefully) lovely handmade gift? Or, if you choose, draw your character handing out their card to the person they were assigned to!
4.) Snack time! There's a load of goodies awaiting you thanks to the adults! Cookies, cupcakes, drinks, even soda and ice cream! (kept cool and frozen thanks to Angel!)
5.) After the cards have been handed out, and snack time has concluded, it's time to play some games to get some of that crazy sugar fueled energy out! (here's some examples on what you can draw being played! )
6.) Cleanup! Does your kid stay around to help pick up after the party like a good little noodle, or do they run back home to their house/parents to show their gifts and spoils of the day?

Heartsgiving: Blind Dates

You step into the garden behind the Guild Hall, and you're met with small lanterns hanging on strings all around the area, lighting it with a gentle golden glow. Circular tables are set up around the garden, vases of flowers and a small candle in the center of each one letting off a soft glow. Angel is sitting at a table to the entrance of the garden, and smiles at you warmly as you approach. She hands you a clipboard, with a blank form for you to fill out, and tells you to return it to her when finished. When you return with the proper information, Angel takes it, and tells you she will be back in a few minutes. When she returns, she hands you a small piece of paper with your partner for the night's name on it and what table they're assigned to. Taft is on the back of the Guild Hall, catering for the event. There's a lot of tasty looking meals and desserts set out and ready for serving, and you take your assigned seat eagerly. It's all so nicely set up! You can't wait to see who your partner is.....

PROMPTS:
1.) Want a sweet gift? Draw your character going out and catching the perfect heart betta for their blind date! are the successful, or do they come out wet and empty handed?
2.) Not the type to go and get wet? Why don't you go shopping instead! See if you can find a pretty bouquet, or maybe some treats and a nice garment?
3.) Kick that sweet tooth! Why don't you try heading to Taft's shop and seeing if he has any baked sweets or other goodies you can bring your date? i'm sure they’d appreciate the thoughtfulness!
4.) Draw your character getting ready to meet their date! Do they dress to the nines, or simple and sweet?
5.) Meetup time! This is the first time you and your date are seeing each other. Do you know them already? Is it a surprise? How to you react to seeing each other?
6.) Draw how the date went! Did you guys hit it off, and plan to meet up after the event to know each other more? did it go sourly despite your best efforts?
7.) If you're so inclined to after the date, why don't you walk your partner back home? It's always polite, and you can get some extra chatting time in! If they live in the outskirts or further, its also a nice time to enjoy the lovely quiet countryside.

Heartsgiving 2026

Now….for a few more announcements! To keep with tradition…. From now till the end of Heartsgiving, it will be a… Double Exp event!

Back by popular demand, Double EXP has returned for the remainder of February! Between now and 11:59 PM EST on February 28th, 2026, ALL submissions (event related or not) are valued at DOUBLE the regular EXP.
What does this mean? This basically means that you calculate your total earnings for a submission and then double them! So if your submission would normally earn 100 EXP, during Heartsgiving, it'll earn 200 EXP instead!
Can my islander character(s) earn double EXP too? Yes, of course! We wouldn't dare leave Xaaida out!

Heartsgiving Upgrades!

Now….the rewards you can unlock for completing the prompts: (art towards either event counts for your total!)
Completing a single prompt unlocks the ability to apply ONE upgrade of choice from the Heartsgiving 2026 batch!
So if you complete 4 prompts total from either event, you may apply all of the upgrades!

 You may apply each new earned upgrade Twice, and upgrades can also be applied to Islanders. You will have the entire rest of the month to complete the prompts of your choice.

February 2026 Newsletter

Welcome to another edition of the Flowering Star!

 

Staff has been busy behind the scenes and this month we have a lot of content for everyone!

First things first, Astralit have recieved a ton of updates, the first of which is their unique bonding and courtship as a species. This was updated last month, but should be repeated here. What type of relationships does your Astralit form? Perhaps this is the month to explore it whether they are in a Thrip or a Plume! All the information can be found on the bond and courtship page here!

Space Debris are officially here!

Although Space Debris Astralit were teased in the past Star Sail festival with the introduction of the isochronal spirits Bismo, Knatu, and Nodel, they have not been officially released. But now they are here!

You may view their subspecies page here to read their info and find all the differences between them and Standard Astralit, and additionally may view their exclusive manifestiations in the Astralit magic directory.

Third...

Astralit breeding has been released!

You may view the updated breeding page here! Alongside this update comes a minor rewrite of the breeding rules to clarify process that were changed during the move to the LoreKeeper website, as well as some minor changes in color rules. Be sure to read the page over carefully if you are planning any breedings!

 

With the breeding update and Heartsgiving, this month we have some new Breeding Exclusive Upgrades!

 

Remember that these are breeding exclusive upgrades, meaning they can only be obtained by rolling them during breeding!

 

 

The cash shop is having a sale! Everything is 25% off, go check out what savings we have! We are also updating the shop limit to no longer be capped at three items a week! The Cash Shop description will be edited to say so shortly.

The Mana Dust shop will be closed this month, and reopens in March!

January 2026 Newsletter

Hello Crestians! It's a new year and you know what that means? A new newsletter!

 

First things first, the Whistler Crest site is permanently open now! This was a change that happened last month, but bears repeating now. If anyone you knew was waiting for the chance to join, let them know!

Secondly, something that has been in the works for a couple of months now: magic questlines! Previously, magic was handled on site through the research system, but this has been overhauled with the Questlines extension. Magic questlines are individual to the character and progress can be tracked under the character’s page by going to their profile then “manage questlines” just under the “history” box. Here you can view all the different branches of magic that your character is able to learn, view prompts associated with each tier, and complete steps once your prompt has been approved! Mastery limits are still in place as listed on each species’ individual magic pages, but now it is easy to track all of your magic progress in one place!

Thirdly, with the release of how to become energy-touched, we are additionally releasing the rules for tier 6 injuries: death. This ruleset can be found on the injuries page. Be aware that this is a permanent decision, so if you are considering death for your characters, consider it carefully.

 

Oops all Astralit!

 

There are many more Astralit upgrades that have released, which you can view here! These vary in level, so make sure you can earn them before applying!

A new figure has been spotted on the edges of town. They appear short, donning a grey-black cloak with rather familiar imagery on it...nobody is quite sure why they're here, but there's worried whispers floating all about what they could be, or what they could want.

Minor Update on MYO Colors!

December 2025 Newsletter

Hello Crestians! Another month arrives and with it (slightly late!) comes the Flowering Star!
Reminder that both the Deep Abyss Caverns Expedition and the Troublesome Fae prompt are still running until December 14th at 11:59 PM CST. That means you have about a week left to get your entries in from the posting of this newsletter.

 

Secondly, the website will open for a second time for sign-ups later this month. This will be announced in our #newbie-world chat in the Discord, so be sure to keep an eye out!

 

 

 

For the month of December, the choice of one of the upgrades above will be available for application for anyone who draws a polished gift image of another user's character. Spread some cheer to other members!

 

 

Aside from the conclusion of the Expedition and the Fae prompts, this month will more quiet. As a small prompt if you would like something to keep you busy, if you draw your characters doing something related to Kindreaux, you may claim an additional +20 EXP from doing so. Just submit a claim linking this newsletter as proof of doing so.

November 2025 Newsletter #2

Hello Crestians! Welcome to a surprise edition of the Flowering Star!

 

While Vortea leads an expedition to the Abyss Caverns, many finley remain in town, daily life marching ever on. For most residents of Whistler Crest, life has been mostly the same. Except from one little thing... Fae spirits.

Fae spirits appearing around town, visible to those who normally cannot see them. Residents started to report seeing fae in their homes, in shops around town. Often the small spirits are just looking at them, but many are getting into trouble! Whether it be getting into food, knocking over breakable objects, or taking off with items! It has gotten so intense, the odd behaviour caught the attention of the Spiritualists. They have gathered together and announced to the town a plan to deal with the mischievous fae.

Good day everyone! It was brought to our attention that for unknown reasons, Faes are pestering the townsfolk. We will do our best to investigate the situation, but as the spirits are roaming through the streets, we will need to take certain steps to ensure no tragedy happens when interacting with them.

 

 

Some of you may be familiar with this item. It's a crystal used to store Mana. When it's sufficiently charged, it may serve as a good repellant. As we are dealing with minor spirits, I reckon placing them in your house or around town should be enough to discourage spirit activity in those areas. We will gladly offer our guidance and help to anyone willing to help us charge the crystals.

 

As for the... more malevolent Fae... Those crystals can be used to capture them. Once they are contained, we can release them away from the town.

 

One of the ways to deal with the spirits without causing any harm is simply trying to keep them away from households. Finley can charge the crystal with the help of the Spiritualists and a bit of their mana to create a repellent for the mischievous fae. It’s only a temporary measure, but will help the particularly affected locations. Leota and the Spiritualists will also be catching the more malevolent spirits. Although most of the spirits are just causing minor mischief, some have been… different. They ask any townsfolk with magical capabilities to help charge the crystals with more potent mana, allowing them to capture the destructive spirits, and to go out with a Spiritualist to catch them. Sure hope we figure out the cause of this soon…

Prompt Requirements:

Draw your character helping repel the mischievous fae! They can be encountering a fae spirit, working with one of the Spiritualists to charge a crystal, putting up some of the repelling crystals, or other similar actions! Additionally, if your character knows at least 1 tier of Magic, you can draw your character joining the spiritualists in catching the more malicious fae. These fae are not acting like themselves, and may cause mild bumps and bruises, but cannot seriously harm your character.

Pictures must have a complex background, and at least one fullbody in order to count!

Note: 10 Capella is a universal reward, while one of the planchettes may be picked if you do not own either. If you own one planchette - you may not claim another, even if it's a different one.
