Additionally we wanted to let you all know that from now on, plot comics will be posted seperately from our usual newsletters! This is just to give ourselves a bit more freedom with pacing and the like. We apologize to everyone dissapointed to not find a comic here- the next comics will drop soon to a news page near you!

Staff has been hard at work clarifying and re-categorizing upgrades! Please keep in mind that the following section is still a WIP, and that not every trait might be done!

The "Rarity AP" category is being phased out. Instead, rarities will be placed into whatever other category they belong in. For example, Popsicle Horns will now be found in horn AP, Broomstick Tail in Tail AP, and Temporal Glands in body AP. If you want to search for all rarities, you can still do so simply by searching for the "Rarity" rarity!

We have added a new type! This type is called "seasonal" and will hold all upgrades that can be applied only in set parts of the year, like Oddbal eyes, Equinox Antlers, Frilly Collar and Sugar Stars. These upgrades aren't otherwise being edited; their rules still remain the same. We are just differentiating upgrades available year round from those only available for a limited time!

With the "seasonal" upgrade, we are also pro/demoting the following upgrades:

One last change regarding upgrades! A few upgrades are going to be merged. These are mostly upgrades that are essentially the same thing for different species.

Upgrades being merged are:

• Faker's ears and Nyulop Ears (Keeping the name "Nyulop Ears")
• Suiryn Paws and Webbed Claws (Keeping the name "Suiryn Paws")
• Fluffy Body & Body Fluff (Keeping the name "Fluffy Body")
• Barb Tail Tip & Devil Tail (Keeping the name "Devil Tail")
• Feather Curtain & Tailwind (Keeping the name "Tailwind")
  • Additionally, this upgrade now has the prerequisite of needing to have "Picori tail"
• Peacock Tail & Long Elegant Tail (Keeping the name "Peacock Tail")
• Webbed Ears & Aquatic Ears (Keeping the name "Webbed Ears")

These merges have not been completed on-site, however if your character's upgrades change somewhere in the next month you'll now know why!

Lastly, all upgrades will be updated with a little section to show availability, like seen here! This is a large undertaking for the staff, so this especially will be rolled out gradually over the next few months!

Another small bit of maintenance: our rules have been updated on both the site and the discord. This was mostly done to remove some rules that referenced Deviantart and the way the group used to run, and has replaced these now redundant rules and replaced them with rules pertaining the usage of our website instead. For both the Discord and site rules some additional rules regarding and examples of undesired conduct have also been added.

We have noticed you have not had a proper Chapel nor priest in your town, we wish to rectify that and have sent the necessary funds for construction of the Chapel once our selected priest and his party arrives. We simply wish to aid the town, and help educate other in the circles and how to best respect what they are. Once the chapel is constructed and open our branch of the Circles will aid in any way for the town depending on respected requests from you.

Meanwhile in Xaaida...

As the preparations for the First Taw kick off, many islanders notice that the Thaw has been taking a strangely long time. There has been no rain- nor snow- and the ice and snow only ever so slightly started to melt. Strange storms have been picking up, leaving travel by sea or sky impossible. Even the annual Betta migration seems to be delayed because of the harsh weather.

Eventually, a strong blizzard kicks up which blankets the Island in snow and limits travel and communication between Villages...

Show how your character helps the migrating bettas! The ice is suffocatingly thick this year, and the oceans are extra dangerous. Several bettas have already washed ashore, and many others are struggling in the seas, being picked off by predators.

Show how your character stays warm during this freak weather! Temporary housing may have collapsed under the weight of the snow, and more stable structures may be difficult to get in and out of.
