An Egg For Us

"You want us to do what?"

Remys wings fluttered as he struggled to comprehend what had just been asked of him and his friends. More specifically, what had been asked of Arae! When Vac had asked to see them, he had assumed they had gotten in trouble or something, not that they were chosen to take care of an egg he nabbed off of a few young lops.

"I just need you three to watch it for me until we can find someone to adopt the egg. With the expeditions happening, there's not a lot of adults jumping at the opportunity for another mouth to feed. And I'm sure you can understand why I cannot watch the egg myself" Vac said from a seat behind a desk. The desk was adorned with pictures and trinkets, most of which Remy assumed had come from the other house leaders and such.

"What I can't understand myself is why Arae had been chosen." Jonathan chimed in from behind. He took a place protectively behind Arae who stood cradling the egg in her paws.

"You three seem the most put together at the moment, and I don't recall seeing any of you signing up for the expeditions?"

"Well I.." Jonathan's voice trailed off.

"Right. So if you wouldn't mind, I just need one less thing to have to think about. There's too much going on, what with the starsail festival, and everything else. So can I trust you three to keep the egg from cracking for a bit?" Vac let his gaze slide across the silent room before nodding his head once and standing. "Perfect. Then I'll be off. You can expect another visit once a parent is found. Until then, just keep the egg warm and please.. do not break it." 

With that, Vac was gone.
