New Haven
Klaedon, Town
New Haven
The people here seem to have vanished into thin air, and many daily activities seem to have been left midway through. Abandoned belongings can be found scattered around town, ranging from dropped coin purses, to well-loved children's toys, to empty carts with no animals to pull them. There are signs of fighting, and the local greenhouse seems to have been heavily damaged.
The finley who once lived here appear to have been avid practitioners of medicine and studied the local flora and fauna. Books, tapestries, and paintings depicting local guardian spirits are present in many of the homes. Munerith and Hyllis in particular seem to have been quite popular.
Signs of Skirmish
Upon inspecting the buildings, adventurers found large, pitch-black claws embedded in the wood. They seem to be made of a similar material to claws and horns. Despite this, they are much tougher, thicker, and sharper - best to handle with care. In the town square, expeditioners found old dried blood surrounding strange piles of glittering black dust. Weapons and light armor lay scattered nearby. Some of the piles contained smooth, bright orange teeth with a pale, rough root. They seem quite sturdy, and don't seem easy to chip or scratch.
The parties couldn't seem to find hide nor hair of whatever creatures attacked this town, despite the damages. The finley themselves also seem to have simply vanished, though not without a fight.
Shattered Greenhouse
Inside the greenhouse, many of the plants were found worse for wear or completely dead, with black and shriveled leaves. Many of the plants, from what was recognizeable, appeared to be medicinal in nature. There is a strange black blight sprawling across the leaves of what few plants remain alive. Their deceased neighbors had been overtaken completely by it, and crumble when touched.
None of the plants from the greenhouse seemed salvageable. Any finley from the expedition party who were brave (or dumb) enough to try consuming them suffered from terrible stomach upset for several hours.
Finley?
Even after rescue and recovery parties were sent out, no Finley could be found; living or dead. Upon this realization, expeditioners were sent out to look for gravesites, now fearing the worst, only for the search to result in no findings once again. During these searches, a few Finley were found on the outskirts of the town, however all of these ran off upon spotting the expeditioners, seemingly fearing for their lives.
