Animal MYO guide

Making an animal companion

Animal companions are split into three different categories.

Pets: animal friends that live in or around homes. While some can be trained for tasks like herding, most live happy little lives spoiled by their owners.

Mounts are stronger, larger pets. Mounts meet all the criteria that pets do, but on top of that are large enough to be ridden by Finley and/or pull carriages or carts. Due to being harder to handle than pets, children may only have baby mounts.

Bonds are exclusive to the Island of Xaaida. Bonds are companions, friends, family. They work along side you in a mutually beneficial relationship. Bonds are treated with the utmost respect, and are not considered property.

How to make your animal companion

Each companion has a different MYO guide that must be followed. Please make sure to read your companion's individual guide.

How to draw a pet application

Pets and mounts must be drawn on this template in order to be approved. Bonds must be drawn on this template to be approved.

Also keep in mind the following (unless specified otherwise in the pet's species guide):
• You may not use pure white (#FFFFFF) or pure black (#000000) anywhere on the design except for the pupils, sclera, and teeth. Pupils must be pure black and sclera must be pure white.
Both eyes must match. Pupils should be rounded, and irises can be any color except for pure white or pure black.
• Teeth can be pure white or off-white, and their tongue/gums must be a shade of pink.

Companions must also be drawn clearly posed.
• Face should be completely visible.
• All limbs, as well as the tail, should be visible.
• At least one eye needs to be open.
• Pose should be simple and show your entire companion.
• Colour placements, where relevant, should be easily discernible from the pose. (If not, please include a guide to their placements!)
• Application images should be unshaded.

Approval forms

Each type of pet must be sent in with a different form when initially sent in for approval. This form must be included in the 'Comments' area of the MYO Submission.

If your pet has species-specific information, (e.g. Toadstool ingredients), make sure to add those to the form.
