Rain fell in big drops, washing away the mud and dust Nyulop and Draken feet brought all over, from both younglings and adults either playing or walking in the streets. While most retreated inside to stay warm and dry, a little ice draken was more adventurous than most. Rain wasn't an obstacle for her, but a new adventure, something to explore and conquer. Fresh out of the egg for only a couple weeks now, yet E’klixi already had her fair share of “adventures” under her belt. Hiding in fresh laundry, catching a bee (and suffering the consequences of doing so), trying out new foods and of course, spitting them right back out if they were not up to her very specific tastes.
Slipping out from her nursery, little E’klixi sniffed the air and looked with mouth agape as a raindrop splashed her nose. Water? Where did it even come from? As her little body made it completely out, rain slid across her scaled body, making her shake as a furred little animal would do. Instead of going back inside however, the little one had other plans. She ran from cover to cover, giggling to herself as if she was racing the water. Obviously, she was completely drenched, but it did not stop her. She used trees, bushes, even the capes and fluffy tails of adults wandering about under the rain for work or simply to enjoy some alone time.
It did not take long for her to make it to the outskirts of the little town of Whistler Crest, where she met with a mysterious, incredible creature. near a little pond formed by the rain, a little being made noises. Its throat would fill up like a balloon, then let out a most ear grating sound. As the little draken approached, it would stop, as if trying to go unnoticed. Her eyes were quite fixated on the creature however, readying herself to pounce and capture this annoying yet curious looking beast. The little animal was much sharper however, and hopped away swiftly as the little ice drakling bounced only to fall face first into the puddle. She blew the water out of her nose, and tapped her little nubby tail as best as she could in annoyance. She had been bested, how dare! Fortunately for the other creature, little E’klixi got quickly distracted by other beings that crawled slowly under the rain. Slightly transparent and of bright colours, it was no surprise that Star Slugs would get the little one’s attention. Like a curious cat, E’klixi would poke and bap at the slugs, until her ears caught the faintest of sounds carried by the wind ; her caretaker was looking for her.
The little one begrudgingly let the slugs alone, as she made her way back to the nursery, slipping in the mud here and there but luckily the rain would quickly wash it away, her scaled skin protecting her a little bit better against any sort of bruises that could occur from those slips. She made it back inside, her caretakers from the nursery sighing as they saw the little one drenched and cold. Didn’t seem to bother her, however, as she was an Ice draken after all. Still, at such a young age, they had to be careful, and wrapped her into a soft blanket as they gently rocked her to sleep…Until one of them let out a piercing scream. Seems like little E’klixi had brought back some slugs and promptly dropped them into one of the caretaker’s beds, perhaps as a gift…a rather unwelcome one, it seemed. Woops!
