Taking Steps and Digging Holes

Apolene stepped tentatively outside of one of the seasonal houses and looked around. No one was close by, but it seemed that quite a few finley were still awake. She turned slightly, closing the door behind her, and headed down the stairs. Her twin sister, Abilene, had gone on ahead to play at all the stalls. Her gaze moved to her feet and her ears lowered, but she took a deep breath and shook away the negativity. She could have fun too. Maybe she’d meet some interesting finley again. Last year was nice but she had been too withdrawn to do much. She really enjoyed the fishing stall… but she didn’t see it anywhere. Actually, there were not that many stalls at all. She wandered over to the pet stall and looked at the little critters inside. There were so many! A little smile formed just behind Apple’s fangs, and she reached over to pat the head of a dark Pieshu, who let out a twitter. So cute. It made her wish she brought her pet with her. But her little friend Lambert had been sleeping peacefully and she couldn’t bring herself to disturb him. She moved away from the pet stall and looked around, until her silvery eyes landed on the dig pit. Apple felt a small jolt of eagerness in her stomach, and she almost bounced her way to the sand box. The earth drakling picked up a bucket and shovel and tossed them over the wooden edge, before climbing up herself. She sat down and started digging, carefully filling the bucket with sand and dumping it somewhere out of the way of everyone, before returning to her hole and repeating the process. There was something almost soothing about moving the sand, and hearing the soft sounds it made. She almost forgot the purpose of digging in the digit.

Apple is trying to open up a little and get out there more, she felt bad whenever she missed out on something, and decided she didn't want to keep letting that happen.
Dangit, I put her left hand's thumb on the wrong side! ^^;;; well... other then that i really like how the pic turned out. (wondering if i should have made it a bit lighter. i'm not sure.)
