Ion is cold, everyone is. the winter is long, and the adults are struggling to keep everyone safe and warm. They're all so busy, and Ion already causes enough trouble for them. He wont bother them with the same chill everyone is facing. He knows how to build a fire, Lasia taught him when he was in a manditory break from nearly biting another finley. She always seems to know how to get his mind off of things. He saw her ealier today, with a group of hunters, he overheard how worried they are about food. harder for animals to survive in the chill. Everyone is busy and worried. He wont add on to that burden.
So he find a tent they already fixed up, and grabs some dryer branches. and gets comfortable. Its not long before the warmth sinks in into his fur. He did it. He solved a problem. This is good. Why is he still so.... upset? The fire is warm and he's not cold anymore, but he still feels, wrong. He didnt hurt anyone, he isnt angry, hes just not... why cant he just be okay? This should be okay. He sits for a while trying to figure himself out. He's been doing a lot of that these days.
The smoke smell catches his attention, and he abseltly checks the fire, only for the smoke to have filled the tent almost entierly. Oh fuck, this is bad. He scrambles out of the tent, coughing and panic racing through his veins. He looks around for something to shovel snow with, but finds only his own paws, he grabs a handfull and turns to throw it on the small fire he made, only to see the fire had spread and was creeping up the side of the tent. He hears someone shouting about the fire, and the dread of another issue for everyone to deal with hits him like a wave.
He stands helplessly holding the snow he grabbed and letting it freeze his hands as he watches people scramble around him to put this fire out. One of the adults grabs his shoulder and guides him out of the way, asking him what happened. 
"I'm sorry" is all he can say.
