POV: Anonymous townsfolk
The townsfolk were in a panic. The challenges provided thus far by the new spirit, Asra, had been more or less harmless. The lurosification was certainly scary, and the voi flugolved was quite distressing, but those were swiftly dealt with. And treatable. Plus, the little harlequin imps were incredibly and unexpectedly adorable! They made great companions once they had been cured of their wretched disease.
This, however, was simply too far in my opinion.
Five monstrosities had been "wrangled" as she put it and were now terrorizing the town! They were chaos incarnate - setting houses ablaze, swooping down attempting to snatch children and pets, and attacking finley outright. There were so many desperate attempts to douse the flames even as more popped up. Poor Remy's livestock were not even spared from the wrath of these beasts. Csirkatrice had gone missing, groinks squealed in dismay, and a rag-tag team of town guards had hurriedly been assigned to protect what remained.
Speaking of the town guard - thank the spirits for those brave finley! They have been a blessing to us and have been doing their best to fend off these "Nostraumbus." Setting up traps, defending homes, setting up lines of water buckets for the houses that the water draken haven't gotten to yet - they really do it all! I'm very grateful to have such kind finley in our guard. It'll really fill you up with some of that Whistler Crest town pride!
However, I am quite concerned about what in the world they're feeding these kids. Perhaps it's just residual adrenaline from the luros tag and the voi flugolved, but even some of the children are trying to help! Gathering materials for traps, herding other (understandably) more fearful kits and draklings and starlits to safety, or throwing rocks and shouting at the Nostraumbus to distract and lure them. Even as I write this, I am watching a group of teens being chased by a very angry beast, right towards one of the traps that have been set up and directly into a group of town guards. They will make fearsome guards and warriors themselves one day, of that I am certain.
Oh no! The town is being attacked by a group of Nostraumbus! We need to get them under control, STAT, before they can wreak more havoc! There are two prompts you can choose from to help the town:
(Click the images to view their full size)
Prompt 4a:
There are five Nostraumbus up for DTA/WTA. Draw your ADULT character attempting to capture and tame one! How do they do it? Do they cooperate with other finley and catch the beast in a trap to try to calm it? Do they try to bribe it with food, or use magic? Or do they go for the reckless approach, and try to fight/ride the beast? Or something else?
However, if you do not have an adult character or simply do not want to enter the DTA, there is an alternative prompt. You may depict your character, if they are a child or young teen, or simply do not want to tame a Nostraumbus, helping to gather supplies and put traps together to help the adults who are capturing the Nostraumbus.
Minimum Requirements For No Injury/Tier 1-3 Injury:
DTA, No Scar, Art + Writing should have at least one fullbody (the character who will receive the Nostra), one wild creature (the nostra being tamed), a medium background, AND 200 words writing. Shading is not required. Injury tiers 1-3 are permitted here.
WTA, No Scar, Writing Only must be 500 words minimum. Your writing should include the character receiving the Nostra, and the Nostra being tamed. Injury tiers 1-3 are permitted here.
Minimum Requirements To Inflict a Tier 4 Injury:
DTA, Scar (Tier 4), Art + Writing should have at least one fullbody (character receiving the Nostra), one wild creature (Nostra being tamed), a medium background, AND 500 words writing. Shading is not required.
WTA, Scar (Tier 4), Writing Only must be 850 words minimum. Your writing should include the character receiving the Nostra, and the Nostra being tamed.
Note: Tier 4 injuries normally require a minimum of 500 words PLUS a shaded background + shaded figures. Due to the time constraints on the event, these requirements have been lowered; the 500 word minimum is still required, but the art complexity has been lowered. For those who wish to flex their writing muscles, there is the option for a writing-only submission!
Prompt 4b:
Children and teens are not capable of taming a Nostra. Or perhaps your adult character is too afraid to try! Draw your character responding to the crisis. Do they help gather materials and create traps? Do they help lure the Nostras into said traps? Maybe they help other finley get to safety, or find someplace to hide themselves! Or do they respond in some other way? Injury Tiers 1-3 are permitted here.
Minimum Requirements:
Fullbody, Simple Background. Shading is not required.
Note: You may inflict up to TIER 4 Injuries while trying to interact with a Nostraumbus in any way. Both adults and children are eligible for these injuries! However, you must still follow the writing limits to obtain an injury.
If you wish to inflict tier 4 injuries without obtaining a Nostra using prompt 4b, please follow the injury submission requirements from prompt 4a. Injury requirements override the original prompt 4b requirements.
