“Now, the first manifestation you harness as a young Star of Light is this.” Bismo stands before a small crowd of Light Astralit children, showing them a small glowing orb of light manifested in his claw. “It’s pretty yes yes? It’s incredibly useful. You can use it to light a small area, use it as a torch, even toss it!” Bismo tosses the small ball into the air before it disappears in a small flash. “Light magic is very flashy-“ As Bismo speaks, they vanish in a blink, and reappear on the other side of the crowd, finishing, “-very quick.” Gasps of awe rise from the crowd and Bismo continues, “As you learn it, you’ll learn how incredible it is to burn into the bright Star you are. Now, who wants to try?”
“You know how you can write your wishes on a little boat and sail it onto the lake? A lantern can also carry a wish up to the stars above. Let’s make some, yes yes?”
Prompt 1: Draw your character participating in Bismo’s lantern making! They can be putting together the lantern or releasing it into the air! The lanterns must be paper and able to float into the air, but otherwise there’s no limit to these lanterns’ design. If you’re a Light Astralit, you can depict your character using small orbs of light within the lanterns to light them.
Prompt 2:
Draw your Light Astralit learning about light magic from Bismo! How are they learning? Is it coming easily? Is it difficult?
If you do not have a Light Astralit, you can still draw your character watching the lessons! Is your character interacting with another to help them practice? Maybe they’re trying their magical abilities together!
“In the oceans surrounding this island, there is a Guardian called Guinevere who protects these waters. From the great Shargo to the smallest slug, she cares for all the creatures who call the ocean their home. Long ago, a Spirit offered a small plant as a gift to the Guardian, and said plant only blooms during the month of Starsail. This plant can be part of our lanterns carrying offerings to her! Now, let’s weave some kelp baskets!”
Islander Prompt 1: Draw your character participating in Bismo’s lantern making! These lanterns are made from a woven kelp basket and filled with small offerings to the Guardian. These offerings should be natural, such as plants, berries, even sea glass, or other such things. In the center there can be a bundle of glowing moss or a Ineve bloom or, if your character is a Light Astralit, a small light of your own magic. Your character can be depicted crafting the lantern or releasing them into the ocean. What did they place into their basket as an offering? Are they sending a prayer with it?
